On July 8^th, Adrienne Pelletier-Olson of Bangor completed the coursework and requirements for the University of Maine Certificate in Nonprofit Management through its Belfast branch, the Frederick Hutchison Center.

Adrienne began the program with the two-day grantwriting workshop a year ago, and has only praise for the program.

Want to develop a web site but don't know where to begin?

NMD 240 introduces the concepts, technical requirements and production processes needed for basic Web site development and construction. Topics include site design, image processing, visual Web editors, html and layout, interface design and basic behaviors.

This course satisfies the General Education Artistic and Creative Expression Requirement.

The course runs for one week, August 15 - 19, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is taught by Andrew Hurtt.

In these difficult times, even non-profit directors, their staff and boards need to be proactive in guiding their organizations and leveraging their dollars and resources to  their best advantage.

The University of Maine Hutchinson Center’s Nonprofit Certificate Management program is offering the workshop, “Strategic Planning and Management in the Nonprofit Organization” on June 10th.

This day-long course begins at 8:30 am and ends at 4:00 pm.

The focus of this workshop will be on understanding the planning, design, implementation, evaluation and maintenance process of a non-profit organization.  This body of knowledge will help non-profit staff and leaders create and build a more effective organization.  Visioning, setting organizational goals and creating or revising the mission statement will also be included in the session.  Each participant will learn the steps required to put together a workable strategic plan for his or her organization.
