Medical Outreach Maine will be screening the documentary, ESCAPE FIRE: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare at the Hutchinson Center in Belfast

Medical Outreach Maine is excited to screen the award-winning documentary ESCAPE FIRE and facilitate a post-screening discussion. Medical Outreach Maine is a student outreach group from the University of Maine and is supported by the Maine AHEC Network, the University of New England, Penobscot Community Health Care, athenahealth, Seaport Family Medicine, and the University of Maine Hutchinson Center.

The documentary will be screened on Wednesday, May 29 at 4:00pm in Belfast, ME at the Hutchinson Center, 80 Belmont Avenue (Route #3) as part of the centerís Senior College program. This event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

Are you a classroom or special education teacher?  Do you work with a deaf or hard of hearing or child?  Do you find that it is difficult to communicate with people and want to learn more about American Sign Language? 

The UMaine Hutchinson Center has received many requests to offer CSD 101 American Sign Language this summer.  The Hutchinson Center is pleased to offer the 3-credit college course, American Sign Language, on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8:00 pm beginning May 28th and ending on July 18th.

Have you come home from college this summer?  Want to jump ahead in your course work or make up a class?  Perhaps you want to take a course just for fun or you have an interest in the subject.  At the UMaine Hutchinson Center, you get small classes, student-centered teachers, individualized attention, WIFI and computer labs, science labs, close to home, and more.

There are hundreds of courses available live and through distance education (online, ITV and video conferencing) offered throughout the summer months.  We also have academic advising, tutors and some scholarships available for summer students and summer courses.
