Summertime Learning can be Fun and Educational too

There are Math classes, Art classes, English classes, New Media classes, undergraduate and graduate, and so much more offered here at the Hutchinson Center.  There are literally hundreds of classes offered this summer– live, online, video conference – offered to suit your needs and taste.


Perhaps you just want to take a course or two this summer.  Many times we have students who are going to college away, come home for the summer and find that the Hutchinson Center offers a course they need to make up or to get ahead for the upcoming new school year. Others just want to take a course because the topic can help them in their job or perhaps pursue a new one.

Some of the on site (live) classes coming up at the end of June and July are: 

ART 260 Nature Drawing starting July 5;
ELL/MLC 470 Methods of Teaching ESL starting June 27;
ENG 205 Introduction to Creative Writing starting July 5;
ENG 243 African-American Literature starting July 5;
FRE 590 Advanced Topics in French starting July 5;
MAT 126 Calculus I starting June 27; SPA490 Special Topics in Spanish starting July 11
SPA 490/598 Topics in Auth. Spanish starting July 18

In August there are some special live classes that that are sure to intrigue your mind and curiosity:
NMD 295 Digital Design for one week 8/8 to 8/12
PAX 495/598 Sustainable/Nonviolent Communication for one week 8/8 to 8/12
SED 532 Behavior Management for two weeks 8/8 to 8/19
NMD 240 Introduction to Web Design for one week 8/15 to 8/19

If you would like to begin or continue college, but feel that your financial situation just won’t allow you to do so, stop by to talk to our advisor. Free advising, career planning and assistance with financial aid forms are available and there is still time to register for Summer and Fall classes.
