Thank you for choosing the University of Maine Hutchinson Center as the location for your organization's upcoming event.

Since most of our live classes are in the evening or weekends, we are able to offer our conference services during the daytime hours, with limited availability evenings and weekends. However, please be aware that our primary responsibility is to our academic programs; therefore, scheduling of events will be worked around class schedules and college-related activities. Room requests can be subject to change due to unforeseen changes in the academic schedule. Every space at the Hutchinson Center is wonderful meeting space and we will work with you to meet your needs.

Upon scheduling an event, the Hutchinson Center will prepare a Reservation Form and send it to the contact person to review.

Standing Room Only at the Hutchinson Center

There was standing room only at the Univeristy of Maine's Hutchinson Center on Tuesday, November 15th. Approximately 275 individuals flocked to the Center to hear remarks made by former U.S. Senator George Mitchell. The spacious 113 seat auditorium was full more than 30 minutes before Senator Mitchell was due to speak on political turbulance in the Midle East and its effect on U.S. foreign policy. The remaining 160 plus individuals enjoyed a spectacular view of the meeting from the recently built, state-of-the-art Conference Center. The Center's knowledgable IT staff was able to broadcast the Senator, in real-time, into the alternate, but equally pleasant, gathering space using video-conferencing.

Senator Mitchell's speaking engagement, co sponsored by the Hutchinson Center, Senior Colege and the Camden Conference was in anticipation of the 25th Annual Camden Conference: The U.S. in a 21st Century World: Do we have what it takes? February 17-19, 2012. For more information on The Camden
