Nonprofit Organization Management Certificate program announced for 2012

Print PDF

In these difficult times, even nonprofit directors, their staff and their boards need to be proactive in planning for today and the future.

On Friday, February 24, join us to the first session in this year’s Nonprofit Management Certificate program – Strategic Planning and Management in the Nonprofit Organization. The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 4:00 p.m. and is being co-taught by Carole Martin and Lori Roming. The focus of this workshop will be on understanding the planning, design, implementation, evaluation and maintenance process of a non-profit organization.  This body of knowledge will help non-profit staff and leaders create and build a more effective organization.  Visioning, setting organizational goals and creating or revising the mission statement will also be included in the session.  Each participant will learn the steps required to put together a workable strategic plan for his or her organization.

New Art Exhibit

Print PDF

Once again, the Penobscot Marine Museum has provided the Hutchinson Center with two fantastic exhibits displaying now through the month of April in our Fernald Art Gallery. In addition to the exhibit, there will be coordinating slideshow presentations on February 22nd and April 25th from 6:30-8:30pm that are free to the public.

One exhibit depicts images from the Elmer Montgomery collection taken between 1936 and 1946 emphasizing his passion for local waterfront scenes while the other tells a story of the fishing industry through the eyes of the Atlantic Fisherman, a journal from the 1900's established in Boston, Ma.
